July 15, 2008 Larry Bagnell , the Liberal MP for the Yukon, was born and raised in Toronto and didn't set eyes on the Yukon until he was assigned to work there as a civil servant for the federal government. It didn't take Larry to fall in love with the people and the magnificent scenery. When the government decided to close the office, Larry decided to stay, instead of being reassigned somewhere else, and when he was approached to run as a candidate in the 2000 election, he jumped at the opportunity. Larry's weekly commute to the Yukon at 12 hours is one of the longest of any MP and it doesn't seem to have dampened his passion for the job.
