July 17, 2008 Jay Hill , the Conservative MP for Prince George-Peace River grew up on a farm in the Peace River region of Northern British Columbia. Like his father before him, Jay too, became a farmer and helped organise the BC Grain Producers Association. Hill spent many years lobbying governments on behalf of grain farmers before deciding to run for federal office. Jay first ran in 1988 but didn’t win a seat until five years later when he was one of the original Reform members elected in 1993.
